Payscale: $18.00 - $24.00 Plus bonus hours for all hours produced over 40 hours

Performance Objectives:
Demonstrate proficiency in performing routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes and after treatment systems.
Learn to perform 90 day BIT inspections and annual DOT inspections under supervision.
Assist in conducting basic electrical diagnostics and air brake inspections.
Demonstrate proficiency in using hand tools and equipment.
Learn to identify common diesel engine problems and report findings to the Production Manager.
Learn to perform all inspections accurately and in a timely manner.
Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment under supervision.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Participate actively in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shop.
Competencies:
Basic understanding of diesel engine components and systems, including fuel systems, cooling systems and lubrication systems.
Familiarity with truck transmission systems and basic maintenance tasks such as fluid checks and adjustments.
Knowledge of suspension components and their role in vehicle stability and ride quality.
Understanding of brake systems and the importance of proper adjustment and maintenance.
Introduction to after treatment systems and their function in reducing emissions.
Basic electrical skills for troubleshooting simple wiring issues.
Awareness of 90 day BIT (basic inspections of terminals) inspections and the importance of compliance of DOT (department of transportation) regulations.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Good communication skills and team work.
Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Ability to proficiently use our software system, Fullbay.
Having your own set of tools is recommended but not required
Experience requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of vocational training programs in diesel mechanics is preferred but not required.
0-1 year of experience in a related field or entry level mechanic position.
